caucus: A caucus is usually a meeting of politicians whose aim is to decide on policy for the future. The word 'caucus' is commonly understood to be a group of people, often within a larger group like a legislative assembly who unite to promote a particular policy, or who come together to select delegates to represent their interests. It derives from a term for a Native American practice, a very pragmatic form of democracy where the community comes together to discuss - essentially to take decisions about their future. We chose to use this term as the title of this visual art project to suggest that artists and creative thinkers can contribute to imagining the direction for our society anew.

culture: There are many meanings for the word culture, it can refer to the behaviours and beliefs characteristic of a particular social, ethnic, or age group: the youth culture; pop culture. It can also be understood as the sum total of ways of living built up by a group of human beings and transmitted from one generation to another. In a time of globalisation and increased migration we experience a diversity of culture and cultural expressions in our daily life. We think that the contemporary museum, which displays artistic and visual cultures, needs to reflect this.
